Heaven's Gates Dark Corners

Following the introduction sequence set in Arkham Asylum psychiatric hospital, the game begins on September 6, 1915, as police detective Jack Walters (voiced by Milton Lawrence) is summoned to the siege of a decrepit manor house in Boston, Massachusetts. The manor is inhabited by a bizarre cult called the Fellowship of the Yith, led by one Victor Holt who has asked specifically for Walters to come and talk to him. Taking cover from an ensuing firefight, Walters finds himself separated from the police and trapped inside the mansion, with no option but to investigate. When the rest of the police finally break in, they find the cultists dead by mass suicide and Walters apparently insane. He is committed to Arkham sanatorium, where he stays for several years.

Really interesting show on Clyde Lewis's Ground Zero show.   Always enjoy listening to Mr. Lewis. He Had Christopher Knowles on as a guest and he is always cool to listen to and his writings are always a good read, to me anyway, at his blog The Secret Sun.

The group rented a 9,200-square-foot (850 m2) mansion, located at 18241 Colina Norte (later changed to Paseo Victoria) in a gated community of upscale homes in the San Diego–area community of Rancho Santa Fe, from Sam Koutchesfahani, paying $7,000 per month in cash. Thirty-eight Heaven's Gate members, plus group leader Applewhite, were found dead in the home on March 26, 1997. In the heat of the California spring, many of the bodies had begun to decompose by the time they were discovered. The bodies were later cremated.

CNN: Heaven's Gate suicides remembered

On the subject of Heaven's Gate and on any subject really, I pay attention to the images, sounds and yes, smells that pop into my head when something is first uttered or I see.   When the subject of Heaven's Gate first came up the very first thing that popped into my head was this:

All for you...

Weird, huh?  Kept playing, over and over in my mind.

Anyway, I am doing another playthrough of one of my favorite games of all time (Started it a couple of days ago).  It has some buggy issues, but is still a joy to play and the material comes from my favorite all-time author H.P. Lovecraft.  Come on and Enjoy Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth with me, LOL!
